Assistant Clinical Director – Speech Pathology

Emma is a Senior Speech Pathologist with extensive experience across both paediatric and hospital settings.  

Emma is passionate about understanding each individual’s goals and celebrating the vital role that communication plays in everyday life. She takes a respectful, empowering, and family-centred approach in her work and is committed to excellence in all she does.  

She embraces the principles of neuro-affirming practice, ensuring that her work celebrates neurodiversity and supports each individual’s authentic way of communicating and connecting. Emma especially loves working with preschoolers through play-based therapy, helping them build communication skills in joyful and meaningful ways.
 

Within DWSP, Emma holds the role of Assistant Clinical Director – Speech Pathology, where she works closely with the speech pathology and leadership teams to provide guidance, mentoring, and service development across the organisation. She demonstrates exemplary models of clinical practice as she leads her fellow speech pathologists. 

Prior to her work at DWSP, Emma worked as a Senior Speech Pathologist in a hospital setting, supporting adults with dysphagia, acquired communication impairments, and progressive neurological conditions.
 

Emma works with families across the Coburg, Northcote, and Eltham clinics, as well as in local primary and secondary schools.
