Katrina Choi
Speech Pathologist
Katrina is a Speech Pathologist with a strong foundation in supporting children, and experience in working with adults who have communication and swallowing difficulties. She holds a Master of Speech Language Pathology from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Social Sciences, majoring in Psychology, from the University of Hong Kong. Katrina brings a unique blend of clinical and classroom experience, having worked as a behaviour therapist in an international preschool in Hong Kong and supported children with special educational needs both during the pandemic and beyond.
Katrina has worked across preschool, primary, and high school settings, supporting children with speech sound disorders, language and literacy difficulties, and social communication needs. She enjoys connecting with her autistic clients through meaningful conversations and is committed to sharing neurodiversity-affirming approaches with families, educators, and others who may be less familiar with them. Katrina believes in supporting individuals to explore their own ways of expressing themselves and to advocate for their needs—especially when meeting new people or navigating unfamiliar environments.
Katrina is also passionate about supporting multilingual families and brings experience in providing bilingual therapy in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. As a multilingual speaker herself, she understands the unique challenges that can arise when more than one language is spoken at home. She works closely with families to navigate these challenges and to set goals that support a multilingual child’s speech and language development.
Katrina is based at our Northcote, Coburg, Footscray and Eltham clinics.
