Talking Time - Intergenerational Playgroup
Hosted by Dee Wardrop Speech Pathology, in conjunction with Little Sisters of the Poor – St Joseph’s Home Northcote
Welcome to our Talking Time Intergenerational Playgroup at Dee Wardrop Speech Pathology!
You’ve seen the magic of intergenerational programs on the ABC – now it’s your turn to be part of something special.
Our playgroup brings together young children, their caregivers, and older adults in a joyful, language-rich environment located in the heart of a local nursing care home. Designed and facilitated by a Speech Pathologist and an Early Childhood Teacher, this unique experience is focused on enhancing your child’s communication skills through connection, creativity, and community.
Sessions run from 9:30–11:00am on Thursdays during the school term and follow a gentle, flexible structure that includes:
-
Welcome Time – greet new and familiar faces
-
Song Time – support language through rhythm and repetition
-
Story Time – build attention, listening, and vocabulary
-
Snack Time – share a moment and a bite together
-
Craft & Play – indoor and outdoor activities designed to inspire curiosity, interaction, and fun
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a snack for your child for morning tea. Tea and coffee are provided for adults.
