Radhika Alexander

Radhika has been working as an Occupational Therapist for over past 13 years, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the DWSP team. Radhika is also fluent in Tamil and Hindi and can offer sessions in these languages for families who prefer it.

During her initial years of practice, she worked in a rehabilitation team, supporting individuals with spinal cord and brain injuries. On returning to work after maternity leave, Radhika developed a strong interest in Paediatrics, focusing on children’s developmental needs and sensory needs, and spent the last 5 years working in early intervention and school based therapy teams supporting families in their child’s journey of development.

Radhika works with children and families dealing with Self-Regulation issues, Sensory-Avoidance behaviors, Attention difficulties, Delayed Gross motor skills and Fine motor skills, Praxis issues, Limited Play and interaction skills, and Dependency in Self-care skills.  She also works with many children on the Autism Spectrum, and continues to develop her passion towards sensory integration practice.

As an Occupational Therapist, Radhika explains that her focus is to enhance the child’s engagement in their age-appropriate occupations (play, self-care & learning) and to support the goals of each family she works with.

Radhika brings gentle warmth and compassion to her work, and enjoys partnering with the parents to bring positive changes in the lives of their little ones.  She says that people often wonder how to say her name ….but her clients – the little people – have always amazed her by saying it perfectly!
